Release Notes

This version of the module requires DotNetNuke Core 5.4.1 or greater. The module is also integrated with new core features/options available since the previous release.
FYI: Developers should be aware that the module uses Visual Studio 2010 only.

Highlights:
  • Many bug fixes.
  • New Feature: Auto Trust Users based on approved Post Count.
  • New Blue theme included and Default theme has been retired (although it will still work, not included with release).
  • Telerik controls integrated throughout the module where it made sense (not completely integrated everywhere yet).
  • Private Messaging Removed: Offloaded to core.
  • Profile Display Removed: Offloaded to core.
  • New Feature: Taxonomy Integration (ie. Tagging at Thread Level).
  • New Feature: SEO Sitemap Provider (Requires manual updating of web.config).
  • New Feature: Core Profile Photo Integration.
  • New Feature: Ability to integrate with third party profile modules.
  • Enhancement: Better SEO options available following best practices.
  • New Feature: Added Quick Reply.
  • Enhancement: Made My Threads work how it worked in previous versions.
  • Removed inline attachment support, all image options offloaded to HTML provided as they were working prior to 4.5.3 version of module.
  • New Feature: Created API for posting (ie. using something outside of forum module itself).
  • Enhancement: Moved all notifications to a standard format in database (now in 2 places instead of 3).

Awesome release. Works great. We just need to have less time between releases. Lets start doing bug fix releases often with major releases spread out.

I have been using the dnn forms module for a long time now and I’m completely impressed with the new functionality. I would recommend this module to anyone. Keep up the good work, and thanks for all of your time and efforts.

a few users reported fatal error when posting, after upgrading forums to this version, which need to be investigated. Please backup your site prior to upgrading and test carefully all features used on your site!
